Dawn Staley got her first recruit for next season on the first day of preseason practice.

She received her second on the day of her first exhibition game.

Mikiah “Kiki” Harrigan announced her commitment to South Carolina via Twitter on Friday. The 6-foot-2 four-star forward, rated the No. 74 player nationwide by ESPN HoopGurlz, chose USC over Georgia, Miami and Texas A&M.

From Pembroke Pines, Fla., and Flanagan High School, Harrigan was a Class 8A first-team all-state selection last year. She’ll bring a lot of athleticism to the block and help pave the way for life after Alaina Coates, who will be a senior next season.

Harrigan joins Araion Bradshaw, the No. 32 prospect in the country, as recruits for next season. The Gamecocks have three scholarships to fill, but will also have transfers Allisha Gray and Kaela Davis eligible after sitting out this year.

The first day of the signing period is Wednesday. Bradshaw and Harrigan are expected to send their national letters-of-intent then. The Gamecocks start their season on Friday.
