Wilson wins fourth Player of Week prize

A’ja Wilson added another bauble to her trophy case on Tuesday when she was named SEC Player of the Week for the fourth time this season.

Wilson, also named ESPNW’s National Player of the Week on Monday, scored 26 points against No. 9 Kentucky and No. 15 Texas A&M last week, each a South Carolina victory. She also averaged 10.6 rebounds, eight blocks and shot 62.9 percent from the field.

Wilson ranks fifth in the SEC in scoring, fourth in rebounding, second in field goal percentage and first in blocks.

The No. 2 Gamecocks (17-0, 5-0 SEC) are on the road for two games this week, against Auburn on Thursday and No. 10 Mississippi State on Sunday.
