South Carolina beat Texas A&M on Sunday, and won another battle on Monday.

Senior guard Asia Dozier, who suffered a right hand injury during the third quarter Sunday and didn’t return, is listed as day-to-day.

The No. 2 Gamecocks will be able to rest Dozier a bit this week, since they don’t play until Thursday and don’t have a game this weekend. USC hosts No. 1 Connecticut on Monday.

Dozier has started 73 games over the past three seasons. She averages 3.2 points and has been the player who gets the key steal, plays tight defense or hits clutch shots. When Florida State fouled Dozier late in last year’s regional championship, Dozier calmly stroked four free throws in the final 17 seconds to help punch USC’s ticket to the Final Four.

If Dozier can’t play against Kentucky, the Gamecocks will be down to 10 players, including walk-on India Farmer, who has played 16 minutes this season. Senior Tina Roy, who replaced Dozier against A&M as coach Dawn Staley leaned on her starters, is expected to start if Dozier is out.
