South Carolina women’s basketball gets a commitment from Orlando guard
South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley received a verbal commitment just before her team successfully defended its SEC tournament championship.
Staley added a third pledge to her next recruiting class when three-star guard Victoria Patrick committed. Patrick, 5-foot-8 from Orlando, Fla., and Edgewater High, chose USC over Syracuse, Penn State, Miami and Xavier.
Patrick joins guard Araion Bradshaw and forward Mikiah Harrigan in the class. Transfers Allisha Gray and Kaela Davis also will become eligible next year and have two seasons to play.
USC has four open scholarships, three if Kaydra Duckett decides to return. Duckett left the team in January to focus on academics, and Staley said then that the two would talk after the season.
