Same player, different name: Bianca Cuevas changes
Same player, different name.
South Carolina point guard Bianca Cuevas is now Bianca Cuevas-Moore, a USC spokesperson confirmed on Friday. According to USC, it has always been her legal name, but in the course of coming up through high school, the “Moore” was dropped along the way.
Cuevas, quiet by nature, went with it but decided that she wanted to take Moore back as she begins her junior season.
It’s similar to the case of former Gamecocks wide receiver Tori Gurley, who was Tori Childers when he signed with USC and then became Tori Gurley.
His mother said then that his given name was always Tori Gurley-Childers but was shortened to Childers on his school records. Yet he always referred to himself as Tori Gurley.
