South Carolina has its first date for next season.

Four-time defending national champion Connecticut revealed its nonconference women’s basketball schedule Tuesday, and its last game is against the Gamecocks. The teams will play on Feb. 13 at a location to be announced.

UConn plays “home” games at three arenas in Connecticut – Gampel Pavilion at its Storrs campus, the XL Center in Hartford and the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville. The game will be played at one of the three spots. USC traveled to Gampel two years ago and hosted the Huskies last year, with UConn winning each game.

The teams, which have traded the No. 1 and 2 spots in the national polls throughout the majority of the past two seasons, will meet in Columbia in 2018. UConn coach Geno Auriemma will lead the U.S. Olympic team this summer with USC coach Dawn Staley as one of his assistants.

Staley is lining up an aggressive schedule. Known games, without dates, include a season-opening game at Ohio State, a matchup at Texas in the Big 12/SEC Challenge and home games against Clemson and UCLA. USC’s permanent SEC opponent is Kentucky, guaranteeing a home-and-home series with the Wildcats every season.
