Video: USC coach Spurrier tees off in RBC Heritage pro-am

University of South Carolina head football coach Steve Spurrier hits his tee shot on the first hole Wednesday at Harbour Town Golf Links. Spurrier is a regular at the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing pro-am, held the day before the opening round of South Carolina’s only PGA Tour event.

Spurrier recently joked to The (Hilton Head) Island Packet newspaper that he might deserve his own tartan jacket -- which is awarded to the Heritage winner -- for his regular attendance at the pro-am. Here’s what he had to say about his pro-am experience.

Spurrier teed off at 1:50 p.m. with professional Robert Streb. His playing partners were Chuck Beaman, Charleston attorney Joe Rice and the Rev. Greg Kronz of Hilton Head Island’s St. Luke’s Church.
