Masters payouts by place, prize money, purse distribution for 2022 tournament
There will be plenty of green to go along with the green jacket that will be presented to this week’s Masters winner.
Augusta National Golf Club announced on Saturday that the winner of this year’s tournament will receive a paycheck of $2.7 million. Second and third place will win $1.62 million and 1.02 million, respectively.
The total purse for the tournament is $15 million.
Here’s a complete breakdown of how the prize money will be divvied up this week among the top 10 finishers:

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler finished Friday’s second round as the clubhouse leader at 8-under after firing a 5-under 67 on the day. HIs five-shot lead is tied for the largest after 36 holes in Masters history.
Harry Cooper — the 1939 Masters runner-up — is the only one of the previous four players to hold a five-shot lead after the second round and not win the tournament.
Other players in the mix heading into the final two rounds of the week include former Masters champs Charl Schwartzel (South Africa) and Hideki Matsuyama (Japan), who are tied for second at 3-under along with and Sungjae Im (South Korea) and Shane Lowry (Ireland).
Columbia native Dustin Johnson and East Carolina product Harold Varner ranked T6 after Friday’s rounds with Kevin Na and Cameron Smith.
Johnson (2020) and Matsuyama (2021) both received $2.07 million for their wins at Augusta National.
