Midlands players selected for all-state and all-star volleyball teams

Three Blythewood players were among the Midlands selections to the all-state and North-South volleyball rosters released Wednesday.

Blythewood’s Gabrielle Waden was selected to the 5A all-state team while teammates Sydney Swann and Chania Rispress will play on the South squad for the 4/5A all-start volleyball matches Nov. 19 at Erskine College.

Lexington’s Maggie Salley and River Bluff’s Reilly Bartlett were named to the 5A all-state team. Bartlett and teammate Peytton Bagwell also were picked for the 4A/5A North-South match.

Richland Northeast’s Logan McMullin and A.C. Flora Cali Assaley made the 4A all-state team. Flora’s Reilly Smith was named for 4/5A North-South match.

Class 3A all-state selections from the Midlands were Camden’s Faith Grant and Emma Nash, Swansea’s Brianna Strobert and Mid-Carolina’s Charlsy Traylor. Traylor and Grant also were North-South selections.

Class 2A all-state selections included North Central’s Bree Lee and Logan Coates, Gray Collegiate’s Sierra Punska and Keenan’s Yaasmeen Muhammad.

Brookland-Cayce’s Jenna Evans was selected to the North-South Class A/2A/3A match.
