State championship winning coach takes over Cardinal Newman softball program
Former Spring Valley coach Dwayne Jones has been named the new softball coach at Cardinal Newman.
Jones takes over for Jessica Boulware, who stepped down to spend more time with her family and coach her daughter’s team.
Jones won three state titles and led the Vikings to eight championship series in his 17 years of coaching at Spring Valley. He had a career record of 483-92-1 and was named S.C. Softball Coach of the Year in 1991 and 2001.
Jones also coached three state players of year with the Vikings.
