Gamecocks’ soccer adds local talent to 2018 class
Chapin senior Josh Corning verbally committed to play soccer at South Carolina.
Corning announced his decision on social media.
“Can't wait to see what God has in store ... Extremely blessed to verbally commit to the University of South Carolina,” Corning posted on his Twitter account.
Corning, a defender, has been part of the Eagles’ consecutive state championship teams. As a sophomore, he made three assists for the Eagles.
Last year, Corning made nine starts, had five assists and was part of Eagles’ defense, which gave up just one goal during the Class 4A playoffs.
