Lexington High named Molly Goodrich as its girls basketball coach.

Goodrich served as an assistant coach to Courtney Newton this season. Newton left Lexington to take a job in Georgia. The Lexington girls doubled the program’s win total from the previous year this past season. Goodrich also is an elementary physical education teacher.

Goodrich moved to South Carolina in 2014 to coach under Newton and to be closer to her husband’s family. She played basketball at the University of Wyoming, where she graduated with a degree in Kinesiology and Health.

Goodrich won two state championships in five seasons as coach at Douglas High in Wyoming.

“I am truly excited and blessed to be the new head girl’s basketball coach at Lexington High School and have high hopes,” Goodrich said.
