As an eighth grader, Jayla Jamison won four individual events at last year’s SC High School League track and field championships.

On Saturday, Jamison duplicated that feat. The freshman won the 100, 200, 400 and long jump for the second straight year. Her four victories alone helped Airport to a fourth-place finish in the Class 4A team standings.

Jamison came into the event by winning the four events at last week’s state qualifier. Her winning times Saturday were 11.62 in the 100, 24:02 in the 200, 54.92 in the 400 and her jump in the long jump was 18-03.

Jamison wasn’t the only multiple winner during the two-day event. Lower Richland’s Tyler Graves won the Class 4A 100 and 400 hurdles, Keenan’s Alajuwan Robinson won the Class 3A 100 and 200 meters, AC Flora’s Quincy Riley won the Class 4A 100 and 200, Batesburg-Leesville’s Ty-Layshia West won the Class 2A shot put and discus and Saluda’s Kalisha Hill won the 100 and high jump in Class 2A.

Other event winners in Class 3A-5A were Westwood’s Christian Horn (400), RNE’s Shani’a Bellamy (400 hurdles), Keenan 4x100 relay, Ridge View’s Alliyah Brooks (100 hurdles), Dutch Fork’s Dallas Wise (high jump) and John-Hunter James (pole vault), Mid-Carolina’s Blake Arnoult (shot put), White Knoll’s Kaniya Johnson (100), Camden girls 4x400 relay, Keenan boys 4x100 relay, Saluda’s Dallan Wright (triple jump) and Jervon Whitt (long jump) and Batesburg-Leesville’s Lauren Caughnman (pole vault).

As a team, Keenan finished second in Class 3A. Westwood’s boys were third in Class 4A and Camden’s girls tied for third in Class 3A.
