Irmo’s Williams sets milestone. Lexington, River Bluff earn region sweeps
Irmo coach Monica Williams set a milestone Friday night.
The former South Carolina women’s basketball standout recorded her 400th win as Yellow Jackets head coach in the 65-31 win over Dutch Fork.
Williams was presented with a basketball to commemorate the win and fans and players waved No. 400 papers at the end of the game.
During her tenure, Irmo, Williams has posted 16 or more wins in 10 of the last 12 seasons and one win away from making it 11 of the last 13 seasons. Irmo is 15-3 on the year and ranked in the top 10 in the state.
Williams has earned region Coach of the Year six times and sent 24 players to the college basketball ranks. She will be co-head coach in this years Carolinas Classic All-Star Basketball game.
