It’s time to vote for The State’s Midlands high school basketball freshman, sophomore or junior Girls Player of the Year. Voting ends at noon Friday, and you can vote as many times you like. The winner will be announced on Lou Bezjak’s Twitter page on Friday. (This is not scientific and is meant to be just for fun.)

Basketball top underclassman nominees

Joyce Edwards, Camden: Edwards is the co-winner of the Class 3A Player of the Year, and the sophomore is over 2,000 points in her career. The Bulldogs are in the state semifinals with Edwards averaging 23.5 points, 11.6 rebounds, 4.2 steals, 3.9 assists and 1.9 blocks per game.

MiLaysia Fulwiley, Keenan: Fulwiley is the co-winner of the Class 3A Player of the Year. The junior has scored over 2,000 points in her career. Fulwiley has led the Raiders to the state semifinals for the fifth straight season by averaging 29.6 points, 8,8 rebounds, 6,8 assists, 4.6 steals and 1.2 blocks per game.

Lindsay Garner, Lexington: The junior post player led the Wildcats to the state quarterfinals by averaging 12.1 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.0 blocks per game.

Terriana Gray, A.C. Flora: Gray is an all-state selection. The sophomore averaged 19.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 3.3 steals per game.

Lauren Jacobs, Cardinal Newman: The freshman averaged 16.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals a game as the Cardinals won their fourth straight SCISA Class 3A championship.

Hillary Offing, Dutch Fork: Offing was an all-state selection. The junior averaged 12.5 points, 7.0 rebounds 2.0 steals and 1.3 assists per game.

Destinee Tiller, Eau Claire: The Shamrocks freshman guard averaged 13.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 1.8 assists per game.

Alyssa Woodlock, Gray Collegiate: The junior guard averaged 9.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 5.5 steals and 2.1 assists per game to help the War Eagles advance to the state quarterfinals.

Jessica Woods, Westwood: Woods is an all-state selection after leading the Redhawks with 19.8 points and 3.3 assists per game. The junior also added 5.9 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game.

Jenna Yanity, Lexington: The junior guard averaged 11.7 points, 3.3 assists, 3.0 steals and 1.5 rebounds per game for the Wildcats.
