The high school softball season across South Carolina is more than halfway complete. To help you keep up everything, The State is offering its weekly Midlands Top 10 power rankings. Records are as of April 10.

1. Lexington (16-1)

Last Week’s Ranking: 1

The Wildcats went 2-0 with shutout wins over Chapin and River Bluff. They defeated the Eagles 1-0 and then knocked off the Gators 5-0.

2. Swansea (12-1-1)

Last Week’s Ranking: 2

The Tigers pitched a pair of shutouts last week, defeating A.C. Flora 5-0 and following that with a 6-0 win over Brookland-Cayce.

3. White Knoll (14-5)

Last Week’s Ranking: 3

The Timberwolves earned a pair of wins last week, defeating Mid-Carolina 4-0 and Dutch Fork 10-0.

4. Gray Collegiate (13-3)

Last Week’s Ranking: 4

The War Eagles did not play last week.

5. Gilbert (12-1)

Last Week’s Ranking: 5

The Indians did not pay last week.

6. Lugoff-Elgin (14-6)

Last Week’s Ranking: 6

The Demons won twice over Richland Northeast, winning the two games by a combined score of 49-1.

7. Chapin (10-6)

Last Week’s Ranking: 7

The Eagles split a pair of games last week. They dropped a 1-0 decision to Lexington but rebounded for a 16-4 win over Bluffton.

8. Blythewood (11-4)

Last Week’s Ranking: NR

The Bengals went 3-0 last week, sweeping a doubleheader with Northwestern then adding another win over Rock Hill.

9. Irmo (9-2-1)

Last Week’s Ranking: 8

The Yellow Jackets only played once and dropped an 8-5 decision to A.C. Flora.

10. Westwood (9-5)

Last Week’s Ranking: N/R

The Redhawks swept a pair of games over Dreher, winning 12-1 and 8-5.
