The State’s best: Meet the 2022 all-area high school girls soccer team

A look at The State’s all-area girls soccer team from Midlands-area high schools for the 2022 season.

Riley Barnes, Gilbert: The North-South All-Star finished with 17 goals and 22 assists for a total of 56 points.

Trinity Broach, Lexington: The senior is a Clash of Carolinas selection that finished with five goals and six assists as a defender.

Emery Christensen, Blythewood: The junior and Region 4-5A Player of Year finished the season with 43 points — 16 goals and 11 assists.

Alanna Colbert, River Bluff: In 19 games played, the junior set new school records in goals and assists. She tallied 63 points — 25 goals and 13 assists. Colbert was Region 5-5A Player of the Year.

Brooke Dudley, Chapin: The senior made all-state and the Clash of Carolinas team. She recorded nine goals with 16 assists.

Joyce Edwards, Camden: The sophomore scored 31 goals and had 23 assists this season for the Bulldogs.

Katie Freiberger, River Bluff: A Clash of Carolinas selection allowed 1.165 goals against average on the season.

Karla Gordon, Gray Collegiate: The senior midfielder scored 56 points on 24 goals and eight assists. She is a Clash of the Carolinas all-star and was named the Region 3-2A Player of the Year.

Libby Hardin, Dreher: An all-state selection by the coaches.

Peyton Henderson, Chapin: The junior goalkeeper was selected all-state after allowing just nine goals in 19 games played. She has signed with Everton U21 team in England.

Maggie Hefferman, Lexington: The sophomore was an all-state selection. She tallied four goals and five assists from her defender position.

Logan Kitts, Lexington: The senior Clash of the Carolinas selection finished with 21 goals and five assists for a total of 47 points on the season.

Dantzler Long, Mid-Carolina: The senior midfielder tallied 60 points, 20 goals and 20 assists. She was named the Region 4-3A Player of the Year.

Delaney Minor, A.C. Flora: The junior only played in 16 games but tallied 20 goals and six assists for 46 points on the season.

Kinlee Mozley, Gilbert: The sophomore went over 100 points on the season with 38 goals and 26 assists. She is a member of the Class 3A all-state team.

Kimberly Neely, Brookland-Cayce: Neely finished the season with 41 goals and 27 assists for a total of 109 points.

Briana Pinasco, Hammond: The junior captain is committed to South Carolina. She scored 42 points — 18 goals and six assists — in leading Hammond to a state runner-up finish. She was Co-Region Player of the Year.

Mia Robinson, Camden: The sophomore scored 88 points with 33 goals and 22 assists in being named all-state and Region Player of the Year in consecutive seasons.

Grace Vipperman, A.C. Flora: The senior all-state selection finished with 21 goals and eight assists.

Evelyn Wight, Blythewood: All-state selection finished with 13 goals and four assists.
