The State’s best: Meet the 2022 all-area high school boys golf team

A look at The State’s all-area boys golf team from Midlands-area high schools for the 2022 season.

Charles Cauthen, AC Flora: Freshman had a 70.5 stroke average, was a medalist six times this season. Tied for second in Class 4A state championship.

Chase Cline, Chapin: Tied for fourth in Class 5A state tournament to earn all-state honors and helped the Eagles to a runner-up finish.

Teddy Dunn, Gray Collegiate: Freshman won Region 3-2A tournament, finished eighth in the Class 2A state tournament to earn all-state honors.

Coleman Ferguson, AC Flora: Had 71.5 stroke average this season, was five-time medalist and earned all-state honors at Class 4A championship.

Burch Harrison, AC Flora: Co-captain of state champion Flora squad. Was medalist in Region 4-4A tournament and four other tournaments. Had 71.8 stroke average, was all-state after finishing fifth in the 4A state championship. Named to SC-Canada team matches and will play in Watson Cup in Scotland this July. Named to North-South all-star matches and signed with High Point.

Adam Hunt, AC Flora: Was medalist in Class 4A Upper State tournament and was first in three other matches this year. Had 72.3 stroke average. Finished fourth in the 4A state tournament to earn all-state honors. Picked to play in Watson Cup in Scotland this July and has committed to play at Illinois.

Harrison James, Chapin: Was medalist of Class 5A Lower State championship and Lexington County championship. Finished 17th in 5A state championship tournament.

Winn McKittrick Camden: Finished fifth in 3A Lower State and was seventh in Class 3A tournament in earning all-state honors.

Roman Mullinax, Lexington: Sophomore was all-region and all-state after finishing seventh in Class 5A state championship.

Grant Paolucci, Blythewood: Region 4-5A champion was runner-up in Class 5A Upper State championship and was tied for 13 in 5A state tournament.

Luke Sullivan, AC Flora: Co-captain of state champion Flora squad had 72.2 stroke average. Medalist in four tournaments this year and tied for second in Class 4A state championship in earning all-state honors for the second time. Selected to play in North-South golf matches and also signed with South Carolina.
