Vote for The State’s boys high school basketball player of the week

It’s time to vote for The State’s high school boys basketball Player of the Week from Midlands-area high schools and games played Jan. 30-Feb. 4. Voting ends Friday at noon. The winner will be announced on Lou Bezjak’s Twitter page.

Coaches can send future nominations to Lou Bezjak by 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

The nominees are listed below. Please note that these polls are not scientific and are meant to be just for fun.

Shib Brown, Sr., Lower Richland: Senior averaged 15.5 points in Diamond Hornets’ two wins last week.

Brandon Crawford, Sr., Irmo: Senior averaged 17.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6 blocks in Irmo’s two wins last week.

Jeremiah McCain, Jr., Lugoff-Elgin: Junior averaged 18 points a game in pair of wins for the Demons.

Jayden Pretty, Jr., Ridge View: Junior averaged 15.5 points in Blazers’ two games last week.

Lawson Wade, Sr., Richard Winn: Senior averaged 22 points, 16.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists in a pair of wins last week.

Russ White, Jr., Cardinal Newman: Junior averaged 11.5 points, rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals in Cardinals’ two wins last week.

Trai White, Sr., Gray Collegiate: Senior averaged 18.5 points, 5.5 steals, 4 assists in two Gray wins last week.
