B-C’s Nate Hughes voted Midlands high school boys basketball player of week
The votes are in, and Brookland-Cayce’s Nate Hughes wins the vote for The State’s Midlands High School Boys Basketball Player of the Week.

Boys Player of Week nominees
Alex Atkinson, Lower Richland: Senior had 30 points, 11 rebounds, five blocks, three assists and two steals in Diamond Hornets’ win over River Bluff on Friday.
Jacob Clark, Mid-Carolina: Senior forward scored 27 points, had six rebounds and two steals in Rebels’ game against Emerald last week.
Ta’Maj Gilliam, Batesburg-Leesville: Sophomore scored 19 points, had three rebounds, three assists and two steals in Panthers’ win over Horse Creek Academy.
Nate Hughes, Brookland-Cayce: Hughes scored 18 points and had four rebounds in a win over Dutch Fork last week.
Israel Macklin, Camden: Macklin scored 28 points, had eight rebounds, three steals, three assists and two blocks in the Bulldogs’ region-opening game against Lakewood on Friday.
Cam Scott, Lexington: Texas signee scored 28 points in win over Summerville last Tuesday.
Joshua Smith, Ridge View: Senior had 11 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals in win over Lugoff-Elgin.
Braylhan Thomas, Gray Collegiate: Georgia Southern signee averaged 19.6 points in War Eagles’ three wins last week.
