Lower Richland’s Alex Atkinson voted Midlands high school boys basketball player of week
The votes are in, and Lower Richland’s Alex Atkinson wins the vote for The State’s Midlands High School Boys Basketball Player of the Week.

Alex Atkinson, Lower Richland: Senior and Presbyterian commitment averaged 22.5 points, 9.7 rebounds, four blocks in the Diamond Hornets’ two wins last week.
TJ Bell, Westwood: Senior averaged 17 points, 4.3 steals and 3.6 assists in Redhawks’ three wins that included a victory over No. 1 Ridge View.
AJ Edwards, Brookland-Cayce: Junior averaged 18.5 points, six rebounds in B-C’s two wins last week.
Lamont Jackson, C.A. Johnson: Senior averaged 18 points, five assists and four steals last week in a pair of Green Hornets wins.
Izzy Macklin, Camden: Senior averaged 22.5 points in Bulldogs’ two games last week.
Joshua Nelson, Spring Valley: Senior averaged 23 points, six rebounds in Vikings’ two games last week.
Cam Scott, Lexington: Senior and Texas signee averaged 34 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 2.3 assists a game in Wildcats’ three games last week. He had a career-high 43 points against Aiken and 29 points and 12 rebounds against Hopewell (NC).
Drew Spires, Richard Winn: Senior averaged 18.5 points, three rebounds, two steals and two assists in Eagles’ two wins last week.
