Lexington’s Gracie Scott voted girls’ Midlands spring sports Athlete of Week

The votes are in, and Lexington’s Gracie Scott wins the vote for the girls’ spring sports Athlete of the Week.

The nominees are listed below. Please note that these polls are not scientific and are meant to be just for fun

Girls Athlete of Week Nominees

Grace Beachem, Hammond softball: Senior pitched five scoreless innings and struck out nine. At the plate, she was 5-for-8 with three runs scored and four extra-base hits.

Allie Cole, White Knoll softball: Senior first baseman went 5-for-11 in Swamp Fox Invitational with three doubles and two RBI.

Maloree Grimsley, Mid-Carolina softball: Sophomore first baseman went 5-for-5 with two homers and eight RBI this week for the Rebels.

Peyton Hendrix, Gray Collegiate softball: Freshman went 2-0 as a pitcher including a complete-game, 11-strikeout perforance against Nation Ford. At the plate, she was 4-for-12 with two RBI.

Avery Ingram, Airport softball: Ingram went 4-for-9 with four runs scored and picked off two runners last week for Eagles.

Harlan Lyons, AC Flora soccer: Senior had seven goals and two assists in three matches this week.

Logan Rivers, Hammond soccer: Junior forward had four goals and two assists in the Skyhawks’ lone match against Heathwood Hall.

Gracie Scott, Lexington softball: Senior Furman signee was 9-of-18 with four doubles and 11 RBI for the Wildcats last week.

Josie Smythe, Blythewood softball: Senior first baseman went 8-for-14 with four homers and 13 RBI. One of Smythe’s homers was a grand slam and another was a walk-off.
