Chapin wide receiver voted Midlands high school football Player of the Week

The votes are in, and Chapin wide receiver Khalen Bostick wins the vote for The State’s Midlands High School Football Player of the Week.

Thanks to all who voted. A new poll will be up on Monday afternoon.

The nominees are listed below. Please note that these polls are not scientific and are meant to be just for fun. Congrats to all the nominees.

This week’s nominees

Khalen Bostick, WR, Chapin: Senior had six catches for 142 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Newberry.

Kenton Caldwell, QB, Newberry: Junior was 15-of-21 passing for 334 yards, one touchdown and also rushed for 43 yards and three TDs in a loss to Chapin.

Teysean Charley, RB, Swansea: Senior carried it 14 times for 134 yards and two touchdowns in win over Pelion.

Jack Croft, WR, Hammond: Senior caught seven passes for 130 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Heathwood Hall.

Aiden Fitzgerald, QB, Lugoff-Elgin: Sophomore was 15-of-23 passing for 211 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Aiken.

Caleb Ford, RB, Cardinal Newman: Senior carried it 25 times for 301 yards and three touchdowns and also caught a pass for 20 yards in a win over Ben Lippen.

Trevor Hoffman, RB/LB, Northside Christian: Senior rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns. On defense, he had 16 tackles, six tackles for loss and QB pressure in win over Andrew Jackson Academy.

Antario James, DB, Fairfield Central: Senior had 10 tackles and two interceptions in a win over Lewisville.

Amir Johnson, DE/TE, Saluda: Senior had five tackles, two sacks, two tackles for loss and two forced fumbles in a win over Chester.

Myles McDuffie, S, Columbia: Junior safety had three tackles and returned two interceptions for touchdowns in the fourth quarter in a win over Great Falls.

Wynn Meetze, DB, Gilbert: Junior had 17 tackles (13 solo) and a forced fumble in a loss to River Bluff.

Maleek Miller, WR, Irmo: Sophomore caught eight passes for 180 yards and a TD in a win over Carolina Forest.

Isaiah Smalls, WR, Richland Northeast: Smalls caught eight passes for 165 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Nation Ford.

Wyatt Thompson, QB/P, Camden: Senior was 10-of-13 passing for 185 yards, three touchdowns and also rushed 22 times for 196 yards and a TD in the win over Ridge View. Thompson also averaged 41 yards on four punts.

Tripp Van Vlake, WR, AC Flora: Senior had six catches for 94 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Laurens.

KD Whitt, WR/DB, Batesburg-Leesville: Junior had a touchdown run, returned a kickoff 84 yards for a TD and picked off a pass in a win over Lower Richland.

Danny Williams, LB, Dutch Fork: Senior had six tackles, two for loss and a sack as Dutch Fork shut out Gray Collegiate.

Ryker Woolstenhulme, RB/LB, Mid-Carolina: Sophomore carried it 15 times for 133 yards and a TD in a win over North Central.
