Batesburg-Leesville running back voted The State’s high school football Player of Week
The votes are in, and Batesburg-Leesville running back Amadre Wooden won the vote for The State’s Midlands High School Football Player of the Week.

Blake Betette, WR, Richland Northeast: Junior had eight catches for 113 yards and a TD in a playoff win over Seneca.
Stephen Collier, WR, River Bluff: Senior caught six passes for 140 yards and two touchdowns in a playoff win over Mauldin.
CJ Earl, WR, Newberry: Senior caught two passes for 44 yards and a TD, and also had a 48-yard punt return for a touchdown in a playoff win over Georgetown.
Chandler Guthrie, WR, Gilbert: Sophomore had four catches for 112 yards and three touchdowns in a playoff win over Lower Richland.
Solomon Kelson, RB, AC Flora: Junior carried it 20 times for 168 yards and a TD, and also caught a 20-yard pass in a playoff win over Emerald.
Hunter O’Neal, RB, Keenan: Sophomore carried it eight times for 115 yards and three touchdowns in a playoff win over North Charleston.
Tanner Short, LB/RB, Chapin: Senior had 17 tackles (three for loss), two sacks and a rushing TD in a playoff win over Goose Creek.
Preston Springs, DB, Hammond: Senior had five tackles (two for loss), two quarterback hurries, picked off two passes and returned one for a touchdown in a playoff win over Augusta Christian.
Jayce Rios, LB, Westwood: Senior had 11 tackles (two for loss) and returned a fumble for a touchdown in a win over Socastee.
Markeith Thomas, LB, Ridge View: Junior had eight tackles (two for loss) and returned an interception for a touchdown in a playoff win over Spring Valley.
Wyatt Thompson, QB/S, Camden: Senior carried it eight times for 173 yards, a touchdown, was 4-of-4 passing for 67 yards and a TD on offense. On defense, he had six tackles (two for loss) in a playoff win over Pickens.
Er’Dreus Walker, WR/S, Fairfield Central: Junior had 10 tackles, two interceptions (returned one for score) and also threw a touchdown in the playoff win over Chesterfield.
Amadre Wooden, RB, Batesburg-Leesville: Junior carried it 13 times for 176 yards and two touchdowns in a playoff win over Columbia.
