Camden two-way standout voted The State’s high school football Player of Week

The votes are in, and Camden’s Jojo Crim won the vote for The State’s Midlands High School Football Player of the Week.

Thanks to all who voted. That was the last poll of the season. We will do season-ending players of the year polls next month.

This Week’s Nominees

Charlie Bonds, QB, Richard Winn: Senior was 5-of-8 passing for 155 yards, two touchdowns, and carried it 12 times for 109 yards and two touchdowns in SCISA 8-man championship win over Laurens Academy.

Jaiden Bryant, DL, Irmo: Sophomore had seven tackles, four sacks, six quarterback pressures and two pass deflections in a playoff win over Chapin.

Jojo Crim, WR/DB, Camden: Senior had 11 tackles, had one carry for 43 yards and blocked two kicks, including the potential game-winning field goal, in the playoff win over Wren.

Devin Geronomi, WR/DB, White Knoll: Senior had three catches for 81 yards, two kickoff returns for 40 yards, had six tackles and an interception in a playoff win over Myrtle Beach.

Tydarion Grier, RB, Fairfield Central: Senior carried it six times for 148 yards and three touchdowns in a playoff win over Chesnee.

Chandler Guthrie, WR, Gilbert: Sophomore caught seven passes for 157 yards and a TD in a playoff win over Bishop England.

Hayden Myers, RB, River Bluff: Junior carried it 27 times for 146 yards and two touchdowns in a playoff win over Rock Hill.

DeSean Rush, DB, Ridge View: Junior had 10 tackles and an interception in a playoff win over Cane Bay.

Andrew Turner, QB, Hammond: Senior was 5-of-9 passing for 150 yards, three touchdowns, including the game-winner in the SCISA 4A championship game against Porter-Gaud.

Desmond Washington, QB, Keenan: Senior was 19-of-30 passing for 430 yards, four touchdowns, and carried it nine times for 49 yards in a playoff win over Orangeburg-Wilkinson.

Daniel Williams, LB, Dutch Fork: Senior had nine tackles (two for loss), in a playoff win over Boiling Springs.

Will Wilson, QB, Richland Northeast: Senior was 22-of-35 passing for 396 yards, two touchdowns, and carried it 26 times for 141 yards and three scores in a playoff loss to Daniel.

Amadre Wooden, RB, Batesburg-Leesville: The junior rushed for a school-record 334 yards and five touchdowns in the playoff win over Andrew Jackson.
