Who are 2024-25 Midlands preseason boys, girls basketball Players of Year? Vote now

It’s time to vote for The State’s preseason high school basketball Players of the Year from Midlands-area teams.

Voting ends Monday (Dec. 2) at noon, and the winner will be announced with The State’s preseason Basketball Players of Year and watch lists.

Below are the nominees. You can vote as many times as you. (These polls are not scientific and are meant to be just for fun.)

Girls Basketball Player of Year Nominees

Jordyn Adams, Fairfield Central: Senior averaged 24.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and five steals per game last season. Adams was on 2024-25 S.C. Basketball Coaches Preseason Players list for 2A.

Michaela Fairwell, Dutch Fork: Senior was 4-5A Player of the Year and all-state selection last season, averaging 17.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 6.6 steals and 3.1 assists. Fairwell was on 2024-25 S.C. Basketball Coaches Preseason Players list for 5A and committed to Cal-San Diego.

Reagan Haggard, Chapin: Junior was all-region selection and averaged 12.2 points, 10.4 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 1.4 assists per game.

Anasia Harvey, Ridge View: Senior was all-region selection and averaged 11 points and 10 rebounds per game. Harvey was on 2024-25 S.C. Basketball Coaches Preseason Players list for 5A.

Chi’nya Isaac, Lower Richland: Senior was all-state selection averaged 12.7 points, 4.2 assists and 3.1 steals per game last season. Isaac was on 2024-25 S.C. Basketball Coaches Elite Players list.

Lauren Jacobs, Heathwood Hall: Senior averaged 31.5 points, seven rebounds, 4.2 steals and 2.1 assists in helping the Highlanders to SCISA 4A state championship last season. Jacobs signed to play at Ole Miss.

Marianna Moody, Spring Valley: Senior forward averaged 12.4 points. 10.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game last season. Moody signed with Francis Marion.

Braylin Mungo, Camden: Sophomore averaged 13 points, four assists and four steals last season. Mungo was on 2024-25 S.C. Basketball Coaches Elite Players to Watch List.

Ceddrianna Springs, Saluda: Freshman averaged 14.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.3 steals as an eighth grader last season.

Chase Thomas, Blythewood: Junior averaged 19 points, 12 rebounds and two steals per game last season. Thomas was an all-state selection.

Destinee Tiller, Eau Claire: Senior was all-state selection and averaged 17.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists last season. Tiller was on the 2024-25 S.C. Basketball Coaches Preseason Players list for 2A.

Boys Basketball Player of Year Nominees

Levi Ball, Gray Collegiate: Junior averaged 16.4 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists last season at Salado High School in Texas.

Korie Corbett, Ridge View: Junior was all-state selection and averaged 16 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 2.1 assists last season. Corbett was on the 2024-25 S.C. Basketball Coaches Preseason Elite Players list.

Yasir Cromer, River Bluff: Senior guard was all-state selection and averaged 14 points, 6.1 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 2.1 steals last season. Cromer was on the 2024-25 S.C. Basketball Coaches Preseason Players list for 5A.

AJ Edwards, Brookland-Cayce: Senior was all-region and averaged 13.2 points last season.

Kaleb Evans, Lexington: Senior averaged 14.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, four assists and 1.9 steals in helping the Wildcats to the Class 5A championship last season. Signed with Winthrop and was on 2024-25 S.C. Basketball Coaches Elite Players list.

Jaiden Haltiwanger, Hammond: Senior all-region averaged 16 points, six rebounds and four assists last season for the Skyhawks.

TJ Lewis, Blythewood: Senior was all-region selection and averaged 12 points, five rebounds, 3.5 assists and two steals a game last year. Lewis was on the 2024-25 S.C. Basketball Coaches Preseason Players list for 5A.

Elton Smith, Cardinal Newman: Junior averaged 7.8 points, 9.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.5 blocks per game last season in helping the Cardinals to SCISA 4A championship.

Braysen Stockman, Ben Lippen: Junior was all-region selection and averaged 20.4 points, 10.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game last year.

Brian Sumpter, Keenan: Senior was all-state selection and averaged 12.3 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 2.1 assists last season. Signed with Wofford and was on 2024-25 S.C. Basketball Coaches Elite Players list.
