Pelion senior guard voted The State’s high school Girls Basketball Player of Week

The votes are in, and Pelion senior Kalani Tolen won the vote for The State’s Midlands High School Girls Basketball Player of the Week.

Thanks to all who voted. A new poll will be up on Monday afternoon.

The nominees are listed below. Please note that these polls are not scientific and are meant to be just for fun. Congrats to all the nominees.

Coaches can send nominations each week to lbezjak@thestate.com by 1 p.m. on Mondays.

Girls Basketball Nominees

MeiLynn Bailey, Ben Lippen: Junior guard averaged 12.5 points, five rebounds, three steals and had two assists for the Falcons last week.

Michaela Fairwell, Dutch Fork: Senior guard and UC-San Diego signee scored 23 points, had seven steals and five assists in Silver Foxes’ lone game last week, a win over Irmo.

Evie Godfrey, Northside Christian: Sophomore guard averaged 18.5 points, nine steals and five assists in Crusaders’ two wins last week.

Naja Gray, AC Flora: Seventh-grade guard had 10 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals in Falcons’ lone game against South Pointe.

Chi’Nya Isaac, Lower Richland: Senior has averaged 15.6 points, 2.6 steals and two assists for the Diamond Hornets.

Taelor Lee-Sutton, Keenan: Freshman guard averaged 26 points, six steals and four assists in the Raiders’ two wins last week.

Braylin Mungo, Camden: Sophomore guard had 22 points, dished out six assists and had six steals in Bulldogs’ lone game last week, a win over Richland Northeast.

Kalani Tolen, Pelion: Senior guard had 14 points, four assists, five steals and hit the game-winning 3-pointer with 4.3 seconds in Panthers’ win over Batesburg-Leesville.

Chase Thomas, Blythewood: Junior guard had 25 points, 14 rebounds, three steals and two assists in the Bengals’ lone game, a win over Westwood.

Kadence Walker-Lee, Gray Collegiate: Senior scored 15 points and had 10 rebounds in War Eagles’ lone game, last week, a win over Midland Valley.

Emory Waters Inman, White Knoll: Senior averaged 13 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals for the Timberwolves last week.
