Camden sophomore voted The State’s high school Girls Basketball Player of Week

The votes are in, and Camden sophomore Shanaryah Wright won the vote for The State’s Midlands High School Girls Basketball Player of the Week.

Thanks to all who voted. A new poll will be up on Monday afternoon.

The nominees are listed below. Please note that these polls are not scientific and are meant to be just for fun. Congrats to all the nominees.

Girls Basketball Nominees

Syteria Bethel, Eau Claire: Senior averaged 13 points and 12 rebounds in Shamrocks’ two wins last week.

Campbell Childers, Northside Christian: Eighth-grader averaged 15.5 points, 3.5 steals and three assists in two games for the Crusaders in two wins.

Tamira Delaney, AC Flora: Junior guard averaged 10.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, two steals in the Falcons’ two wins last week.

Shaelyn Hayes, White Knoll: Hayes scored 14 points, had 17 rebounds, five assists and two steals in Wolves’ lone game, a win over River Bluff.

Taelor Hiller, Lower Richland: Senior averaged 16.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, one block and one steal in Diamond Hornets’ two wins last week.

Lauren Jacobs, Heathwood Hall: The senior had 29 points and 12 rebounds in the Highlanders’ lone game, a win over Cardinal Newman. The Ole Miss signee also went over the 2,000-points mark at Heathwood Hall.

Izzy Saville, Lexington: Senior scored 25 points (including five 3-pointers), grabbed seven rebounds, had three steals and two assists in Wildcats’ lone game, a win over Irmo.

Kadence Walker-Lee, Gray Collegiate: Senior averaged 12.5 points and 12.5 rebounds in War Eagles’ two games last week.

India Williams, Blythewood: Junior averaged 23 points seven rebounds, two steals and two blocks in the second-ranked Bengals two wins last week.

Shanaryah Wright, Camden: Sophomore averaged 10 points, nine rebounds and three steals last week for the Bulldogs.
