Spring Valley senior voted The State’s high school Girls Basketball Player of Week

The votes are in, and Spring Valley senior Lauren Crosland won the vote for The State’s Midlands High School Girls Basketball Player of the Week.

Thanks to all who voted. A new poll will be up on Monday afternoon.

The nominees are listed below. Please note that these polls are not scientific and are meant to be just for fun. Congrats to all the nominees.

Girls Basketball Nominees

Lauren Crosland, Spring Valley: Senior averaged 23.5 points and shot 53% from the field in Vikings’ two wins last week.

Lauren Jacobs, Heathwood Hall: Senior and Ole Miss signee averaged 23.6 points and nine rebounds in the Highlanders’ three wins last week.

Laney McEntire, Ben Lippen: Eighth-grader averaged 19 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, three steals and hit six 3-pointers in Falcons’ two games last week.

Jazz McMillan, Fairfield Central: Sophomore averaged 32 points, 8.5 rebounds in two games and went over 1,000 points in her career for the Griffins last week.

Madison Mickens, AC Flora: Senior averaged 12.5 points, six rebounds, 4.5 steals and four assists in Falcons’ two wins last week.

Blythe Price, Gilbert: The freshman had 18 points and 12 rebounds in the Indians’ win over Brookland-Cayce.

Chase Thomas, Blythewood: Junior averaged 23.5 points, 11 rebounds, six steals and shot 80% from the free-throw line in Bengals’ three wins last week.

Kadence Walker-Lee, Gray Collegiate: Senior averaged 17.6 points and 9.6 rebounds in three Gray wins last week.
