Meet The State’s Midlands all-area high school girls basketball team for 2024-25

A look at The State’s all-area girls basketball team from Midlands-area high schools for the 2024-25 season.

Top honors

The State’s Player of the Year: Lauren Jacobs, Heathwood Hall

Player of the Year (fan vote): Chase Thomas, Blythewood

The State’s Coach of the Year: Emily Schaeffer, Blythewood

Coach of the Year (fan vote): Ashley Gilmore, Eau Claire

All-Area First Team

Aneya Britt, Westwood: Sophomore averaged 15 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game. 

Morgan Champion, Camden: Senior was an all-state selection and averaged 14.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.7 steals per game. 

Lauren Crosland, Spring Valley: Senior averaged 16.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.5 steals per game. Crosland was an all-state selection, picked for North-South All-Star game and signed with Lander.

Teonna Draughn, AC Flora: Junior averaged 14.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 1.4 assists.

Michaela Fairwell, Dutch Fork: Farewell averaged 18.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.0 steals, 3.0 steals this season. She was an all-state selection, selected to play in Carolinas Classic All-Star game and signed with UC-San Diego.

Evie Godfrey, Northside Christian: Sophomore averaged 18.7 points, 5.8 steals, 4.4 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game. 

Anasia Harvey, Ridge View: Senior averaged 15.6 points, 10.3 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game. Harvey was an all-state selection and picked to play in Carolinas Classic All-Star game.

Shaelyn Hayes, White Knoll: Senior averaged 14.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.4 steals per game. Hayes was an all-state selection and picked to play in North-South All-Star game. 

Chi’Nya Isaac, Lower Richland: Senior guard averaged 14 points, 3.4 assists, 3.3 steals, two rebounds a game this season and also scored a career-high 32 points in the second round of 4A playoffs. Isaac was an all-state selection, picked to play in the Carolinas Classic All-Star game and committed to Texas A&M International.

Lauren Jacobs, Heathwood Hall: Senior averaged 25.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.7 steals and 2.4 assists a game. Jacobs was named 2025 SC Gatorade Girls Basketball Player of the Year and is signed with Ole Miss.

Jazzlyn McMillan, Fairfield Central: Sophomore was an all-state selection and averaged 17.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.1 steals. 

SaBreya Monsanto, Heathwood Hall: Senior averaged 15.2 points, 10.7 rebounds, 3.8 steals, 3.7 assists. Monsanto signed with East Tennessee State. 

Braylin Mungo, Camden: Sophomore was an all-state selection and averaged 15 points, five assists and five steals per game. 

Izzy Saville, Lexington: Senior was an all-state selection and averaged 13.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.3 steals. Saville signed with Lenoir-Rhyne to play lacrosse.

Jhnai Sumter, Lower Richland: Junior was an all-state selection and averaged 13.3 points, 8.6 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.6 assists per game.

Taelor Lee-Sutton, Keenan: Freshman was an all-state selection and averaged 18.3 points, 5.0 steals and 3.0 assists this season.

Abby Livingston, Irmo: Sophomore averaged 17.7 points, 4.9 steals and 3.5 assists per game. 

Ceddrianna Springs, Saluda: Freshman was an all-state selection and averaged 21.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 5.6 steals and 1.1 blocks this season.

Chase Thomas, Blythewood: Junior was an all-state selection and averaged 23 points, 12 rebounds, three steals and shot 80 percent from the free-throw line.

Destinee Tiller, Eau Claire: Senior was an all-state selection and averaged 20.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.9 steals, 2.2 assists and 1.4 blocks per game.

Kadence Walker-Lee, Gray Collegiate: Senior averaged 15.4 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game. Walker-Lee was an all-state selection, picked for Carolinas Classic All-Star game and committed to Coker. 

India Williams, Blythewood: Junior all-state selection averaged 17 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game.
