Vote for The State’s 2025 Midlands high school softball Player of Year

It’s time to vote for The State’s Midlands Softball Player of the Year. Voting ends at noon Tuesday, June 17, and you can vote as many times as you like.

The winner will be announced next week along with The State’s all-area softball and baseball teams.

The nominees and polls are below. Please note that these polls are not scientific and are meant to be just for fun:

Softball Player of Year nominees

Aspen Boulware, Gray Collegiate: Sophomore shortstop hit .573 with a school-record 22 home runs, 44 RBIs and 26 stolen bases. Boulware was Region 5-4A Player of Year, Class 4A All-State selection, 4A Player of the Year and SC Gatorade Player of the Year.

Sam Craig, Lexington: Senior shortstop hit .592 with a home run and 41 RBIs. Craig was Region 4-5A Player of Year, 5A Division I All-State selection and signed to play at Gardner-Webb.

Avery Ingram, Airport: Senior catcher hit .400 with nine home runs and 30 RBIs. Ingram was a Class 4A All-State selection and signed with Newberry College.

Miller Martin, Saluda: Eighth grade pitcher was 18-4 with a 0.78 ERA and 238 strikeouts in 144 innings. At the plate, she hit .369 with a home run and 25 RBIs. Martin was a Class 2A All-State selection in helping the Tigers to their first state championship appearance.

Mackenzie Melton, North Central: Sophomore P/SS was 12-6 with a 1.37 ERA and 202 strikeouts in 128 innings pitched. At the plate, she hit .368 with four triples and 13 RBIs. Melton was a Class 2A All-State selection.

Ainsley Minchew, Gilbert: Ninth grade pitcher went 23-3 with a 0.62 ERA, five no-hitters and 256 strikeouts in 134 ⅓ innings. At the plate, she hit .333 with two home runs and 36 RBIs. Minchew was a Class 4A All-State selection.

Pressli Reynolds, A.C. Flora: Ninth grade SS/P hit .477 with seven home runs and 37 RBIs. As a pitcher, she was 12-2 with a 2.24 ERA and 108 strikeouts. Reynolds was Region 3-4A Position Player of Year and Class 4A All-State selection.
