Meet The State’s 2025 Midlands all-area high school baseball team

A look at The State’s all-area baseball team and Players of the Year from Midlands-area high schools for the 2025 season.

——First Team ——

Colt Babic, Hammond: Sophomore infielder hit .440 with seven home runs, 23 RBIs and stole 15 bases. Babic was a SCISA All-State selection.

Thomas Bishop, Camden: Junior P/INF hit . 376 with two home runs and 33 RBIs. On the mound, Bishop was 2-1 with a 3.78 ERA.

Charlie Bonds, Richard Winn: Francis Marion signee hit .460 with seven home runs and 36 RBIs. On the mound, Bonds went 6-2 with a 1.43 ERA and 77 strikeouts in 30 innings.

Jackson Bottar, Blythewood: Senior outfielder hit .402 with a home run and 32 RBIs. Bottar signed to play at The Citadel.

Reidar Carlson, Lexington: Sophomore was 7-1 with a 2.18 ERA this season. Carlson was a Class 5A Division I All-State selection.

Amare Counts, Blythewood: Junior outfielder hit .474 with six home runs and 37 RBIs. Counts was a Class 5A Division I All-State selection.

Brandon Cromer, Lexington: Senior hit .427 with five home runs, 24 RBIs and 19 stolen bases. Cromer was a Class 5A Division I All-State selection and signed to play at South Carolina.

Johnny Collins, Blythewood: Junior P/1B went 10-2 with a 1.44 ERA with 76 strikeouts in 58 innings pitched. At the plate, he hit .287 with a home run and 18 RBIs. Collins was Class 5A Division I All-State selection and 5A Division I Pitcher of the Year.

Jacob Hair, Swansea: Junior INF/OF/P hit .442 with 23 RBIs and 16 stolen bases. On the mound, Hair was 2-0 with a 1.00 ERA. He was a Class 3A All-State selection.

Braydon Hallman, Batesburg-Leesville: Junior P/SS hit .356 with three home runs and 34 RBIs in helping the Panthers to their first state championship in more than 80 years. On the mound, Hallman was 3-0 with a 1.50 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 27 innings and was a Class 2A All-State selection.

Zechariah Haney, Camden: Senior hit .436 with two home runs, 16 doubles and 23 RBIs. On the mound, he was 4-3 with a 1.86 ERA, a save and 59 strikeouts in 56.2 innings pitched. Haney was a Class 4A All-State selection, MVP in the North-South baseball All-Star game and signed to play at Newberry.

Carter Harrington, AC Flora: Senior was 7-1 with 2.13 ERA and 72 strikeouts in 46 innings pitched. Harrington was a Class 4A All-State selection, picked to play in the North-South All-Star game and signed with College of Charleston.

Cash Epps, Airport: Sophomore was 10-1 with a save and a 1.54 ERA in 73 innings pitched for the 4A state champions.

Hunter Epps, Airport: Senior P/INF hit .311 with a homer and 10 RBIs. On the mound, Epps was 10-3 with a 1.11 ERA, four saves and 82 strikeouts in 88.2 innings in helping the Eagles to the program’s first state championship. He was a Region 5-4A Player of Year, Class 4A All-State selection, picked to play in the North-South All-Star game and signed with USC Union.

Brice Gillette, Airport: Senior INF/P was 8-1 with a 0.94 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 37 innings. At the plate, Gillette hit .387 with a home run and 29 RBIs. He was a Class 4A All-State selection, picked to play in the North-South All-Star game and signed with USC Union.

Tyler Kneece, Batesburg-Leesville: Junior pitcher was 10-1 with a 1.40 ERA and 51 strikeouts in 52.2 innings pitched.

Sean Lee, Ben Lippen: Senior P/INF hit .420 with three home runs, 26 RBIs, eight doubles and three triples. On the mound, Lee was 9-1 with a 1.30 ERA and 111 strikeouts in 69 innings. He was SCISA 1-4A Player of Year, SCISA All-State selection and signed with USC Sumter.

Macon Leppert, Blythewood: Senior catcher hit .443 with seven home runs and 27 RBIs. Leppert was a Class 5A Division I All-State selection and signed with Gaston College.

Colby Livingston, Mid-Carolina: Junior infielder hit .444 with a home run and 24 RBIs. Livingston was a Class 2A All-State selection.

David McElveen, Ben Lippen: Senior INF/P hit .457 with five home runs and 36 RBIs. McElveen was SCISA All-State selection and signed to play at Erskine.

Boone Miller, Dutch Fork: Senior was 5-1 with a 1.48 ERA and 56 strikeouts in 52 innings. Miller was Region 4-5A Pitcher of Year, Class 5A Division I All-State selection and signed with North Greenville.

Alvin Murray, Cardinal Newman: Senior outfielder hit .402 with six home runs, 32 RBIs and 10 doubles. Murray was a SCISA All-State selection and signed to play at Newberry.

Alex Myers, Blythewood: Senior shortstop hit .373 with two home runs and 21 RBIs. Myers signed to play at Wofford.

Kaden Myers, Mid-Carolina: Senior P/INF hit .356 with three home runs and 24 RBIs. On the mound, Myers was 10-1 with a 0.71 ERA, a save and 97 strikeouts in 58.2 innings pitched. He was Region 3-2A Player of Year, Class 2A Co-Pitcher of Year, All-State selection and signed with College of Charleston.

Ethan Offing, Dutch Fork: Junior infielder hit .378 with four home runs and 23 RBIs. Offing was a Class 5A Division I All-State selection and committed to play at Clemson.

Caden Reeves, Chapin: Senior catcher hit .305 with five home runs and 20 RBIs. Reeves threw out 60 percent of base stealers, was a Class 5A Division I All-State selection and signed with Troy.

Zach Snead, AC Flora: Senior infielder hit .382 with four home runs, 24 RBIs and stole 14 bases. Snead was a Class 4A All-State selection and signed with The Citadel.

Toby Sobieralski, Lexington: Senior catcher hit .362 with three home runs and 15 RBIs. Sobieralski signed with USC Aiken.

Christian Spivey, Lexington: Sophomore hit .333 with seven home runs and 30 RBIs. Spivey was a Class 5A Division I All-State selection.

Dalton Taylor, Gilbert: Senior pitcher was 9-0 with a 0.25 ERA, a save and 68 strikeouts in 56 innings pitched. Taylor was Region 5-4A Pitcher of Year, Class 4A All-State selection and 4A Pitcher of Year, picked for the North-South All-Star game and signed with USC Sumter.

Tanner Watkins, Batesburg-Leesville: Senior center fielder hit .388 with a home run, 28 RBIs and three triples for the 2A champions. Watkins was a Class 2A All-State selection.

Jayden Williams, Spring Valley: Senior outfielder hit .434 with four home runs, 16 RBIs and 30 stolen bases. Williams was a Class 5A Division I All-State selection, picked to play in the North-South All-Star game and signed with The Citadel.
