Meet The State’s 2025 Midlands all-area high school girls soccer team

A look at The State’s all-area girls soccer team and Players of the Year from Midlands-area high schools for the 2025 season.

——First Team ——

Anna Allen, River Bluff: Sophomore forward had 22 goals and 11 assists.

Kennedy Bagley, AC Flora: Sophomore goalkeeper had a 0.319 goals against average and 19 shutouts.

Grace Benson, Chapin: Senior had nine goals and 10 assists. Benson was a Class 5A All-State selection and picked for the Clash of Carolinas All-Star game.

Mary Grace Gabriel, Ben Lippen: Sophomore forward had 24 goals and five assists and was SCISA 1-4A selection.

Olivia Gray Berzins, Dreher: Freshman had 14 goals and 10 assists. Berzins was a Class 4A All-State selection.

Lila Bowers, Chapin: Junior midfielder had 20 goals and 17 assists this season. Bowers was a Class 5A Division II All-State selection and committed to play at Winthrop.

Elle Brewer, Hammond: Senior was the SCISA 1-4A Player of Year and a SCISA All-Star selection. Brewer is committed to play at Winthrop.

Avery Campbell, Gilbert: Sophomore had 21 goals and three assists this season. Campbell was a Class 4A All-State selection.

Vanessa Coleman, Gray Collegiate: Junior midfielder had 16 goals and 13 assists. Coleman was a Class 4A All-State selection.

Victoria Coleman, Gray Collegiate: Junior forward led the team with 32 goals and 22 assists. Coleman was a Class 4A All-State selection.

Adriana Dunat, Lexington: Junior midfielder had 19 goals and nine assists this season. Dunat was a Class 5A Division I All-State selection and committed to play at Davidson.

Alyssa Frazier, Lexington: Senior midfielder had six goals and 11 assists. Frazier was a Class 5A Division I All-State selection, selected for Clash of Carolinas and signed to play at Memphis.

Kat Haigler, Chapin: Senior had 21 goals and seven assists. Haigler was a Class 5A Division II All-State selection and picked for the North-South All-Star game.

Sophie Hoffman; Gray Collegiate: Senior goalkeeper had a 0.718 goals against average. Hoffman was a Class 4A All-State selection and was MVP in North-South All-Star game.

Madilyn Horning, Mid-Carolina: Senior had 32 goals and five assists this season for the Rebels.

Sidney Kitts, Lexington: Senior had 13 goals and eight assists. Kitts was a Clash of Carolinas selection and signed to play at Wofford.

Samantha Lawther, A.C. Flora: Sophomore CB had seven goals and an assist for the state champion Falcons. Lawther was a Class 4A All-State selection.

Jillian Muir, Dreher: Junior had 22 goals and 10 assists this season.

Brooke Ogorek, River Bluff: Junior midfielder had 14 goals and 10 assists. Ogorek was a Class 5A Division I All-State selection and committed to play at Troy University.

Layne Powers, Brookland-Cayce: Senior had nine goals and 15 assists. Powers was a North-South All-Star selection.

Mary Elizabeth Riddle, A.C. Flora: Sophomore had 24 goals and 10 assists. Riddle was a Class 4A All-State selection.

Logan Rivers, Hammond: Senior was SCISA 1-4A selection and signed to play at American University.

Julia Salo, River Bluff: Senior goal keeper set a program-record with a 0.526 goals against average with 13 shutouts. Salo was a Class 5A Division I All-State selection and picked to play in Clash of Carolinas All-Star game. She is signed to play at Converse.

Sydney Stoner, Chapin: Junior had 14 goals and 13 assists. Stoner was a Class 5A Division II All-State selection.

Liza Stavrou, A.C. Flora: Junior had 19 goals and 20 assists. Stavrou was a Class 4A All-State selection.

Lauren Thye, Blythewood: Junior defender had three goals and three assists. Thye was a Class 5A All-State selection.

Megan Wooten, Gilbert: Sophomore goalkeeper had a 0.905 goals against average and was a Class 4A All-State selection.

Emma Valdes, AC Flora: The center-midfielder had 31 goals and 30 assists in helping the Falcons to the program’s first state championship. Valdes was Class 4A All-State selection, 4A Player of the Year and selected to play in Clash of Carolinas All-Star game. She signed to play at Wofford.
