Successful Midlands high school football coach resigns after four seasons
A.C. Flora High School is in the market for a new football coach.
Ken Floyd has resigned as the school’s coach after four seasons. The school has already posted the job opening.
There are now three head football coaching openings in the Midlands, all at some of the area’s largest schools: Flora, Chapin and White Knoll.
Floyd went 36-14 in his four seasons as head coach, including winning a region title and making it to 4A Lower State championship in 2022. This season, the Falcons were 11-2 and lost in the third round of the Class 4A playoffs to South Pointe
Floyd has been an assistant in two different stints at Flora, including three years under former head coach Dustin Curtis. He was hired after Curtis left for the Dorman head coaching job in 2022.
Floyd, a former Fairfield Central standout, was the offensive coordinator on the Falcons’ 2020 state championship team and the school has had one of the top offenses in the area during his time there.
Floyd also served as an assistant at Irmo and Swansea.
