Friday’s Basketball Roundup: Braysen Stockman goes for 52 in Ben Lippen win
Braysen Stockman set a school and personal milestone on Friday.
The Ben Lippen senior scored 52 points in the Falcons’ 84-30 win over Northside Christian. The 52 points also is believed to be a school single-game record. Stockman already holds the school’s career scoring record and has more than 2,000 points in his career.
DJ Slaughter added nine points for the Falcons, who stayed a game behind Heathwood Hall in the region standings.
Lexington girls, Irmo boys get big region wins
The Lexington girls basketball team and Irmo boys team picked up key region wins on Friday.
The Wildcat girls defeated Irmo, 63-28, to stay in a first-place tie in Region 4-5A with Dutch Fork. Senior Sydni Anderson went over the 1,000-point mark in the game.
In the boys’ matchup, Irmo rallied from a three-point halftime deficit to defeat Lexington, 53-48. With the win, the Yellow Jackets stay a game behind Dutch Fork for the region lead.
Khiry White had 21 points and Christian Brown had 15 to lead Irmo.
