Hammond, Heathwood Hall’s Wolfe win SCISA boys golf championships
The Hammond boys golf team won its first state championship in almost a decade on Tuesday.
The Skyhawks shot a two-day total of 573 to win the SCISA Class 4A championship by 7 shots over Trinity Collegiate at the Hackler Course in Conway.
It is Hammond’s ninth state championship and first since 2018.
Heathwood Hall’s Connor Wolfe won the individual state championship with an 11-under (133). Wolfe shot a course-record 9-under 63 in Tuesday’s final round and won by seven shots over Hammond’s Marcus Bradley and Hilton Head Christian’s Sage Bradshaw.
Wolfe began the day 2 shots behind Bradshaw, who shot an opening-round 68.
Bradley led Hammond with a 140 and Woods Weston shot a 141. Price Roof had a 145 followed by Owen Atkinson (149) and Bo Hammersla (155).
Other SCISA champions crowned Tuesday were Spartanburg Day (3A), Charleston Collegiate (2A) and Heritage Academy (A).
