Vote for The State’s Midlands 2026 high school boys, girls soccer players of year
It’s time to vote for The State’s Midlands girls and boys soccer players of the year.
Voting ends at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, and you can vote as many times as you like. The winner will be announced Thursday, June 11 along with The State’s all-area soccer teams.
The nominees are listed below. Please note that these polls are not scientific and are meant to be just for fun.
Girls Player of the Year Nominees
Kennedy Bagley, AC Flora: Junior was All-State selection in helping Falcons to second-straight Class 4A championship. Bagley had 177 saves, a 90% save percentage and 0.756 goals allowed average.
Lila Bowers, Chapin: Senior was All-State and Clash of Carolinas selection in helping the Eagles to Class 5A Division II championship. Bowers, a Winthrop signee, scored 26 goals and had eight assists.
Victoria Coleman, Gray Collegiate: Senior forward scored 35 goals and had 11 assists for the War Eagles. Coleman was S.C. Coaches Association of Women’s Sports Class 4A Player of Year, All-State and North-South All-Star selection and signed with South Carolina State.
Adriana Dunat, Lexington: Senior had 25 goals and 11 assists. Dunat was Region 5-5A Player of Year, All-State and Clash of Carolinas selection and signed with Davidson.
Claire Kaminski, Cardinal Newman: Junior midfielder was SCISA Region 1-4A Player of Year, SCISA All-State and had three goals and seven assists this season.
Brooke Ogorek, River Bluff: Senior midfield had 5 goals and 11 assists. Ogorek was All-State and Clash of the Carolinas selection and signed with Troy University.
Avery Stoner, Chapin: Sophomore was All-State selection in helping the Eagles to Class 5A Division II championship. Stoner finished with 21 goals and 10 assists.
Boys Player of the Year Nominees
Tanner Battafrano, Cardinal Newman: Senior defense/forward was SCISA 1-4A Player of the Year, All-State selection and helped the Cards to the program’s seventh-straight state championship.
Jason Gonzalez, Gray Collegiate: Sophomore forward had 29 goals and 17 assists in helping Gray to the 4A championship match. Gonzalez was an all-state selection.
Cullen Maas, AC Flora: Senior striker had a school-record 47 goals, 8 assists, was Region 4-4A Player of Year, All-State and Clash of Carolinas selection. Maas signed to play at Barry College.
Matthew Pinasco, Hammond: Senior was SCISA All-State selection and scored more than 40 goals to set a school record. Pinasco signed to play at Sewanee College.
Dalton Purcell, Blythewood: Junior was Region 5-5A Player of Year, All-State selection and had 20 goals and 11 assists this season.
Jalen Tucker, Chapin: Senior was All-State and Clash of the Carolinas selection in helping Eagles to the Class 5A Division II championship game. Tucker signed to play at Winthrop.
