The 10 best Midlands HS football senior recruits who’ve yet to commit to a college

The Midlands area is loaded with future college football players in the Class of 2027.

Almost 20 high school football players have already committed to their future colleges, but there are plenty more who will do it over the course of the next few months.

Here is a look at the area’s top uncommitted seniors.

Peyton Bishop, DE, Dutch Fork

Bishop moves over to Dutch Fork from A.C. Flora. He had 113 tackles (25.5 for loss), 14 sacks and four pass break-ups a season ago. 247Sports Composite ranks Bishop as the No. 12 prospect in South Carolina for the 2027 class. He has taken official visits to Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech.

Tiyon Fanning, RB, Lugoff-Elgin

Fanning was a mainstay in White Knoll backfield before moving over to Lugoff-Elgin this year. He has offers from Kennesaw State and Kent State, among others.

Corey Gleaton, WR/DB, Gray Collegiate

One of the area’s top pass catchers, Gleaton caught 52 passes, and had 1,425 all-purpose yards and 12 touchdowns last year. On defense, he had 50 tackles, six interceptions, nine pass break-ups. Gleaton has offers from Chattanooga, Newberry, UNC Pembroke and North Greenville, among others.

Tre Howard, QB, Ridge View

Howard is coming back from a season-ending injury that ended his junior season after two games. He is a three-year starter and threw for 2,476 yards, 25 total touchdowns as a sophomore. His offers include Savannah State.

Khristian Jackson, WR, Ridge View

Jackson, slowed by injuries last season, caught 28 passes for 355 yards and six touchdowns. His most recent offer was from Mercer, but he has offers from such Power 4 schools as South Carolina, Penn State and Wisconsin.

Tyrone Jennings, DT, Irmo

Jennings had 80 tackles (3 for loss), five pass break-ups and four sacks in his first year at Irmo last year (after playing at White Knoll his first two years). He has offers from North Carolina A&T, Western Carolina, Georgia State, Coastal Carolina SC State, Chattanooga and Samford, among others.

Maleek Miller, WR, Dutch Fork

Miller moves across town from Irmo to Dutch Fork for his senior year. The speedy running back/receiver had 1,453 all-purpose yards and 19 touchdowns last season for the Yellow Jackets 247Sports Composite ranks Miller as the 22nd-best prospect in-state for 2027, and he has offers from Liberty, James Madison, Cincinnati, North Carolina, South Florida and East Carolina, among others.

John Stokes, DL, Hammond

The Skyhawks’ defensive tackle had 56 tackles (36 for loss), 16 sacks and 40 quarterback pressures last season. Stokes has offers from Carson-Newman, Morehouse and Gardner-Webb.

Royce Williamson, WR/ DB, Gray Collegiate

The son of former Gamecock Troy Williamson has been a productive two-way player for the War Eagles. Last season, he had 42 catches for 725 yards and 13 touchdowns. Defensively, Williamson had 51 tackles and picked off eight passes. He has offers from Liberty, Gardner-Webb, East Carolina, Chattanooga and The Citadel, among others.

Trevon Williamson, RB, Gray Collegiate

Williamson enters his second year at Gray after two years at Gilbert. He has been a four-year starter and rushed for 1,662 yards and 19 touchdowns last year.
