Lexington girls lead by two shots after first round of 4A championship
Hailey Cleary and Gracyn Burgess each shot 73 as Lexington grabbed a two-shot lead after day one of the Class 4A girls golf championship at Lexington Country Club.
The Wildcats, who are looking for their 11th title in the last 12 years, lead Dorman by two shots heading into Tuesday’s final round.
Cleary and Burgess rounds of 73 have them tied for fourth individually. Dorman’s Natalie Srinvasan shot the low round of the day with a 70.
White Knoll is in sixth place after shooting a 343. Jensen Castle led the Timberwolves with a 76, which is tied for seventh. Blythewood is in ninth with a 352.
In Class 3A at Hilton Head, St. James shot a 334 and leads Hilton Head by six shots. A.C. Flora is tied for 13th.
