River Bluff boys, Lexington girls make big jumps in USA Today soccer polls
River Bluff boys and Lexington girls made big jumps, while Chapin boys moved into the USA Today/NSCAA Soccer polls released Tuesday.
The Gators (24-1-0) moved up six spots to No. 2 after defeating Clover 5-0 in the 4A boys championship. It is the highest ranking for River Bluff this season.
Lexington made the biggest jump in either of the polls by going from No. 18 to No. 5 in the girls poll. The Wildcats defeated J.L. Mann 2-1 in overtime and finished 25-0-2, the only unbeaten team in the state this season.
The Chapin boys moved into the rankings for the first time and are at No. 17. The Eagles won their first title since 2003 when they defeated Myrtle Beach 3-2 for the Class 3A championships.
