These five S.C. high school football players should have impact

THE BLITZ TAKES a look at “Five on the Rise,” five players who should make an impact on the upcoming high school football season:

CALEB BYNUM, LB, Spartanburg Christian: One of the best in SCISA. At 6-foot-3, 205 pounds, this two-way player has generated interest at middle linebacker. He had 67 tackles and four sacks in nine games as a junior.

RYAN LEE, QB, Spring Valley: One of the Vikings’ best athletes, he was strong as a junior quarterback leading the flexbone offense. Could be a prospect in an option-offense school, or possibly recruited as a athlete at another position.

RAY MILLER, WR, Byrnes: Athlete excelled at the wide receiver and captured some MVP camp awards this offseason, but I see him as an outside linebacker when it comes to recruiting interest. Excellent athlete with a 4.5 40 and 37-inch vertical jump.

DAMANI STALEY, LB, Ridge View: He can play in space well or come off the edge for the Blazers. He had six sacks as a sophomore and shows good speed and body control when playing in space at linebacker.

CHANCE WALKER, WR, Swansea: Walker is one of the most exciting offensive players in the Midlands. At 5-8, 176, he is dangerous as a wideout, running back or on special teams. Generated more than 1,000 total yards last season with 21 touchdowns.
