Saluda’s Mathis is quite a catch

EACH YEAR PRIOR to releasing my list of the Midlands’ Top 25, I always go through position rankings. Today, we will look at wide receivers.

Saluda’s Jamarion Mathis is at the top of this strong group. This outstanding two-way player could play either side of the football at the next level and has been offered as a safety.

Lower Richland’s Larry Collins is in the mix at the top and considered by many as one of the top prospects in the state.

The sleeper in this bunch is Airport junior C.J. Wright. This outstanding athlete has the ability to develop into one of the state’s top prospects in the Class of 2017.

Here are my Top 10 Midlands wide receivers. Other than Wright, all are seniors.
