Bearcats running back Wilson is on the go

EACH YEAR PRIOR to releasing the list of Midlands Top 25 high school football players, I rank the position players. Here is my look at the running backs.

At the top is one of the most exciting offensive players in the Midlands, Batesburg-Leesville’s Terrance Wilson. He is a threat to score any time he touches the football.

Lexington’s Slade Carroll at No. 2 is a blue-collar, physical back who can gain tough yards.

The sleeper is A.C. Flora’s Coleman Pope. This 6-foot-1, 185-pound junior is a throwback to the I-formation tailback and will be a force in the Falcons’ offense.

Here are my top 10 Midlands running backs. Other than Pope, all are seniors.
