Chapin’s Register is tops among Midlands tight ends

EACH YEAR, prior to releasing my list of the Midlands top 25 high school football players, I start with position rankings. Today, we look at tight ends.

At the top of this list is rising junior Will Register from Chapin. I predicted this young man would be a major Division I prospect after seeing him his freshman year, and the offers now are rolling in.

Eric Weber of Blythewood is the top senior tight end in the Midlands.

Brookland-Cayce’s Keyshawn James is the sleeper of this group. A starter at linebacker for the Bearcats, James has worked at tight end sparingly in games and in camps in the offseason and has a chance at being one of the state’s best at the position if he can get the reps.
