Here’s a look at some of the keys to the top games in the Midlands on Fiday night:

CHAPIN AT BROOKLAND-CAYCE

The Eagles have flexed their offensive muscles in each game, though there have been questions on defense. Brookland-Cayce has the type of offense that could cause problems for Chapin if the Bearcats can play mistake-free football. KEY PLAYER: Chapin QB Logan Bailey

DORMAN AT DUTCH FORK

The Silver Foxes breathed life into their offense last week against Boiling Springs, and Dorman continues to impress with a balanced attack and one of the state’s top quarterbacks. Dutch Fork will need the same type of offensive performance to win at home. KEY PLAYER: Dutch Fork RB Stephen Davis, Jr.

IRMO AT SPRING VALLEY

The Jackets found some offense last week, but the defense was vulnerable on third and fourth downs. The Vikings will need to control the ball to prevent Irmo’s offense from getting into a rhythm. KEY PLAYER: Spring Valley QB Ryan Lee

LEXINGTON AT WESTWOOD

The Wildcats are cardiac kids, waiting until the fourth quarter to play each week. They must play four quarters to win on the road at Westwood. KEY PLAYER: Lexington WR Tyler Schadewald.

RICHLAND NORTHEAST AT AIRPORT

The Cavaliers need to run the ball effectively if they are to have any chance in this game. Airport has more speed than any team in the Midlands, and the offense is playing very well. KEY PLAYER: Airport CB/WR Kerryon Richardson

WHITE KNOLL AT SWANSEA

The Timberwolves have two things to worry about this week – keeping Swansea DL Mason Ray out of their offensive backfield and containing QB Chance Walker. This could be a matter of depth and size in favor of the Timberwolves. KEY PLAYER: Swansea’s Walker
