Five high school players on the rise in the Midlands
Here’s a look at five players to keep an eye on in the Midlands:
Terrance Brunson, QB, Calhoun County (junior) – 6-foot-3, 230 pound, two-way starter for the Saints has led them to an unbeaten season so far, passing for more than 1,000 yards. Look for him to draw attention as a defensive prospect, as well.
Bryce Fields, QB, Gray Collegiate (junior) – This 6-0, 170-pound signal caller has passed for 1,775 yards and 21 touchdowns on the season. Throws the short game as well as any in the Midlands.
Rudy Mitchell, RB, Westwood (junior) – Mitchell stepped in as a reserve in the first week of the season and has proven himself to be a feature back, with excellent navigation skills in traffic and breakaway speed off the edge.
Kerryon Richardson, Ath, Airport (junior) – This defensive back/receiver is one of the most talented skills players in the Midlands, and has a chance at being one of the best in the state in 2017 Class.
Eric Ricker, DB, Lexington (junior) – Excellent skill set as a defensive back, and strong in special teams play; will be one of the Midlands’ top players as a senior.
