Midlands players making themselves known

Five players on the rise in the Midlands:

QUAEVON CANNON, RB, SWANSEA – Have not mentioned this senior much this season, but he has been a staple of the Tigers’ offense. Had a 300-yard rushing, three-touchdown performance against Gilbert on Friday.

SHAUN MOORE, DB, SPRING VALLEY – Moore is a junior with Division-I potential. He is a big-time hitter from his safety spot and covers a lot of ground in pass defense, but has a body that is developing and could see himself project as a linebacker at the next level.

COLE OWENS, WR, BEN LIPPEN – The junior standout is one of the top athletes in the Midlands for the 2017 class and continues to be a threat for opponents, scoring on three touchdown grabs this past week.

JOE PREDUBSRI, DB, BROOKLAND-CAYCE – This freshman has been very impressive this season, working special teams, wing-back and cornerback for the Bearcats. He is going to be an impact player in the Class of 2019.

DAQUAN WELLS, DB, LEXINGTON – Wells, a Class of 2017 athlete, excels on defense for the Wildcats, but can be an impact player on offense as well, running routes or taking handoffs. He has a lot of potential.
