Dutch Fork basketball’s Deuce Dean to transfer

Deuce Dean is moving out of the Midlands to finish his high school basketball career.

The rising junior point guard is transferring from Dutch Fork to York Prep in Rock Hill.

“I have been knowing about them for a while and they have made me feel like home,” Dean said. “And I’m excited to play a national schedule against the best in the nation.”

At York Prep, Dean will play alongside D.J. Burns, one of the state’s top prospects for Class of 2019. York Prep will have at least one stop in the Midlands next year for the third annual MLK Bash in January.

Dean has been getting Division I interest and has offers from Virginia Tech, Kansas State, The Citadel and Toledo. The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 8.8 points, 4.3 assists and 3.6 rebounds last season for the Silver Foxes.

Dean is playing this summer for Team Loaded (NC).
