Frank Martin, Gamecocks offer hometown standout

Gray Collegiate talented junior Juwan Gary picked up an offer from South Carolina on Friday.

Gary visited USC on Friday and coach Frank Martin delivered the offer.

Gary’s recruiting has picked up steam over the last couple weeks, and he earned offers from Connecticut and Wake Forest this week. He also has offers from Clemson, Florida, North Carolina State, Texas A&M, UNLV, Georgia and Maryland.

247Sports ranks the 6-foot-6 Gary as the third-best prospect in the state for the Class of 2019 and 40th overall. He is ranked 29th by ESPN.

Gary leads the Midlands in scoring at 21.8 points a game and is averaging 8.1 rebounds. He was named to the Chick-fil-A Classic all-tournament team and also won the slam dunk contest.

Gary scored 24 points in Friday’s win over C.A. Johnson and went over 1,000 for his career. The junior has 1,014 points.
