Another of the area and state’s top high school basketball prospects is leaving the Palmetto State for his senior season.

Lower Richland High’s Christian Brown will be attending high school in Georgia for his senior season. According to sources, he will be at McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Ga. He recently withdrew from Lower Richland.

McEachern coach Mike Thompson hasn’t confirmed Brown’s transfer but spoke generally about him Aug. 24 .

“Without saying too much about it, if his eligibility was cleared, then I could probably give you a better answer than that,” Thompson told The State’s Andrew Ramspacher. “But we have to wait until some of that happens, to find out what’s going to happen for sure. But there’s a good possibility that could happen.”

This will be Brown’s third high school. He attended A.C. Flora the first two years before playing at Lower Richland last season.

Brown joins Juwan Gary, who left Gray Collegiate to play at West Charlotte (NC) for his senior season. Of the top four projected prospects in South Carolina for the Class of 2019, three are no longer in-state. In addition to Brown and Gary, York Prep’s DJ Burns reclassified and is enrolled at Tennessee.

247Sports ranks Brown as a four-star prospect and No. 46 nationally. He has taken an official visit to UNLV and took one to Clemson over the weekend. He also has an official visit scheduled for LSU next weekend and one to Georgia, but that date hasn’t been set.

Brown averaged 22 points this season at Lower Richland but missed several games with injuries. He played this summer for Upward Stars and averaged 16.7 points a game.
